My life has always been defined by the pursuit of stories that require grit. Long before I called the forests of Bandhavgarh home, I was finding my rhythm in the world of journalism and filmmaking, capturing the pulse of the world through a lens and a pen.
That same drive led me into the world of marathons and adventures, where I learned that endurance is as much a mental game as a physical one. I’ve run marathons, crashed on ski slopes, biked into places I probably shouldn’t have, and chased wildlife across India’s deepest thickets. Somehow, the only logical conclusion to all that momentum was moving into a tiger forest.
I’m Aditi Dave.
I’ve always been drawn to things that are slightly “too much”—too far, too steep, too wild, or too cold. I am a “misfit” in the traditional sense; never content with a single lane, always searching for the narrative others might miss.
Missfittotravel started as a record of that instinct: the races, the treks, the skiing disasters, and the solo trips to places where people asked “Alone?” with genuine concern.
In 2022, I walked into Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and the forest did something quietly rude—it made everywhere else feel less interesting. By 2025, I had leased out my Mumbai apartment and moved. There was no dramatic announcement; just a quiet, slightly alarming life decision.
Today, I live on the edge of one of India’s most tiger-dense forests. I do morning safaris the way others do morning coffee. Elephants turn up in the backyard. A leopard usually has opinions about the road outside. The adventure didn’t stop—it just stopped requiring a flight booking.
Living at the intersection of conservation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, my professional pace hasn’t slowed. As a photographer and filmmaker, I document the delicate balance between wildlife and humanity. As the partner in Malaya Handicrafts,Café & Tourcraft, based in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, I champion Indian artistry and sustainable commerce, traveling to find unique pieces and meeting the people who make them.
This blog is still about adventure—running, travel, wildlife, and the pursuit of stories that matter.
It’s just that the base camp is now a forest.
And the neighbours are considerably more dangerous than before.
I also serve as a content strategist and creative consultant for brands and projects that value authenticity over artifice. Whether I am producing a documentary, crafting a brand’s narrative, or navigating the complexities of a forest-based business, my approach remains the same: stay curious, stay disciplined, and always look for the soul of the story.
If you are looking for a collaborator who understands the grit of an athlete and the vision of a filmmaker, let’s build something meaningful together.
